Every year on September 5th, India celebrates Teachers’ Day to honor the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan — a teacher, philosopher, and statesman who believed that education is the highest form of service to society.
At the Auroville Institute of Applied Technology (AIAT), this day holds special meaning. Our teachers do much more than impart knowledge; they embody the values that shape our institution — sincerity, humanity, and progress.
- Sincerity: In every lesson taught and every challenge patiently addressed, our teachers bring sincerity to their work. Their genuine care creates an atmosphere where students feel encouraged to learn and grow.
- Humanity: Beyond academics, our educators nurture empathy, kindness, and responsibility. They help students discover their potential not just as professionals, but as human beings who can contribute meaningfully to society.
- Progress: By embracing innovation and guiding students to adapt to an ever-changing world, our teachers ensure that learning at AIAT is always forward-looking and transformative.
In the vision of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, true education is not only about acquiring skills but about awakening the soul, cultivating character, and preparing the individual to participate in the evolution of a higher consciousness. As The Mother said:
“The first principle of true teaching is that nothing can be taught.”
Our teachers at AIAT live this principle by guiding students to explore, question, and discover knowledge within themselves — fostering independence, creativity, and inner growth.
On this Teachers’ Day, we honor and thank our educators who embody these ideals and continue to light the path for our students. You are not only shaping skilled professionals but also nurturing integral human beings who carry forward the spirit of Auroville.
Happy Teachers’ Day from the AIAT family!
